Welcome to Aussies in the UK! I started this blog to do one thing: to help people have the greatest UK experience. Everything from moving to the UK, setting yourself up, living there and travelling in Europe. In this blog I share all the tips, advice, how-to-guides and other things I wish I had known back then so people who want to live and travel in the UK can do it too.
About me
My name is Simon and I am an Aussie who travelled and lived in the UK on the Youth Mobility Scheme visa. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I now write about how you can do it too so that you can also have one of the most amazing life experiences ever.
I travelled to London in 2017 and then spent my first year in Leicester. I then made my way north up to Cockermouth in the Lake district and took a meandering path all the way down to Bristol where I lived for most of my second year. I visited many UK cities, road tripped all around the UK and travelled all across Europe while working as a veterinarian in various places.
